Naakt protesteren tegen Facebook, zou jij het doen?

Facebook houdt niet van naakt. Fotografe Trina Cary wel… en ze is het preutse reglement van Facebook meer dan beu. Haar werk wordt regelmatig van Facebook afgedonderd omdat ze veel naaktportretten schiet. Deze plaatjes doen het erg goed op social media maar al het naakt – zelfs gecensureerd – is niet oké.

Toen ze voor zeven dagen verbannen werd na het plaatsen van een naakt zelfportret waarop de borsten en schaamstreek niet eens zichtbaar waren, was ze het zat. Ze trommelde een groep van dertig vrouwen op die allemaal naakt voor haar camera poseerden. Nouja, bijna naakt want de edele delen worden verhuld door een zwart stuk tape waar ‘gecensureerd’ op staat. De naakte vrouwen poseerde voor Trina in Canada en dat is natuurlijk best spannend: zo in je blootje op de foto. Gelukkig zijn ze allemaal tevreden met het resultaat en zijn ze blij dat ze vol zelfvertrouwen hun lichaam mogen laten zien. Ieder lichaam mag er namelijk zijn.

I am so incredibly honoured to get to meet such courageous and empowering women every day. These ladies are beautiful inside and out and yesterday we stood together to fight against the difference of art vs porn. As an artist I should be allowed to post my work on my page, I take the extra time to censor my images but there is always someone who still doesn't like it. Someone out there finding it offensive. I don't know how I became such a big target but on a daily basis I see sexualized images all throughout my newsfeed. Why aren't these images or videos being reported? What I do is to help, women and men, to inspire, empower, uplift and liberate. Don't hate on that. If you don't like it scroll past it. Move on. Please share this if you support it!

Censor Shoot December 3rd at 1pm. Fuelled by be being banned from fcbk over and over again from someone reporting my censored self portraits. I am sick and tired of being reported for doing something that empowers myself. Us women need to stick together and fight this! There are far worse things on social media that people should be banned and Facebook/instagram should be removing. If you are interested in coming out for the big shoot please pm me!

Wow. What an incredible afternoon. About a week ago now I was banned for a self portrait I took that did not violate any of Facebook's Community Standards. I had traveled to Nelson, BC and because I was banned I was without contact with any of my clients, I lost photo shoots and offended people by them thinking I had blocked them. I was enraged! So I posted about this asking for three women to model for me in Censor Tape… Well three turned into 31!!! It's beyond beautiful how women can get together with a group of strangers, be completely out of their comfort zone, take off their clothing, let me get ridiculously close to their vaginas and after an hour become best friends!
